ATTACK OF THE NOODLE MONSTER!!!

I so think I have created a monster, a noodle monster to be exact. Mason is very quickly moving on from processed baby food in a jar to more "real" food. I could easily say that noodles are one of his faves right now. About once a week I make some sort of noodles (speg, mac & cheese, pasta roni, etc.) & you can just see his eyes light up when I put some on his tray. His dexterity is amazing & he manages to get about 95% into his mouth. Really though, I have yet to find much of anything this kid doesn't like. Eggs, noodles, bananas just about anything makes him happy. (and Heaven help us when he really gets going, he's gonna eat us out of house & home!) But like they say, the proof is in the pictures...

Yes, he ate all of that & then some!!

teether biscuits & eggs really do make the best messes!

kiddos update

I know I haven't done one of these in awhile & Mason had a dr's appointment today, so I figured now was a good time to catch everyone up on the boys. Wow, time sure flies when you are having fun (or EXTREMELY busy). The boys are now 4 years old & 7 months old. OH MY GOODNESS! where did the time go?? Eric is becoming so independent & really wants to do all the things the big boys do (like video games that he's not quite ready for). He is still Mommy's little boy too, that is evident when it comes time for bed or he has woke up scared in the middle of the night. He currently is very into games on the computer & his hand-eye coordination is awesome! I have really been impressed how well he is at pong-like games & tangram puzzles. Eric is also a great big brother! He loves to make a pallet on the floor for he & Mason to play on (sometimes a little rough) but is usually very good with the baby. Speaking of Mason, he has become MOBILE!! He's very fast at the army crawl & will follow Eric everywhere (most of the time). He's at that stage where if he sees me, he wants me & no one else will do. (Sorry Daddy, no hard feelings!) We did visit the doctor today for his 6 month check up. (I know we are a month late, we got behind with the move.) Anyway, Mason weighs 18lb 5oz (50% for his age) & is 28in long (75% for his age). Now lets see if I am 63 in. tall, that makes him almost half my height!! Geez!! I really like our pediatrician here, I've been very impressed with the fact that she gives the shots instead of a nurse. I don't think I've ever seen a doctor do that, very rare!! She said Mason is doing very good & is where he should be. She also said not to be surprised if he walks sooner than Eric did. (Isn't it normal for 2nd babies to walk sooner than the 1st one did? Or is that just an old wives tale?) Oh I almost forgot, Mason has 4 teeth now (3 on the bottom, 1 on the top) with 3 more on the way. He has been surprisingly good with the whole teeth thing. Okay so I guess that's about it for now, take care & we'll see everyone in August?.
He's concentrating so HARD!! Video games
can be killer!
All smiles, most of the time!

you just never know...

"Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Meyer wiener......." I've been here long enough to learn that you just never know what surprises this place has in store. Well, the kids & I set out early this morning to do our Friday shopping like any other normal day. One of our errands for the day was to go to Albertson's in Santa Fe (I am on the hunt for some Raspberry Chipotle Sauce). You will never guess what we found in the parking lot of the Albertson's...THE WIENERMOBILE!!!!! Yes, we went inside & yes, the Oscar Meyer people really are as nice in person as they are on TV. Eric got some stickers & a wiener whistle, he even got to honk the horn! I wasn't as quick to act as I should have been & did not get a pic of Eric in the driver's seat but I did manage to snap a pic of the Weinermobiles after our tour. Notice the new Mini Cooper Weinermobile?? Guess they are trying to keep up with the times!

Just for Jimmy

About 2 months ago Jimmy called me with a request, he wanted pics of the job site. What I told him that day is still true today, ALL cameras are prohibited. Well, somehow the Los Alamos Monitor (the local newspaper) was allowed to publish a story about the expansion of LANL which included a pic of the job site!! So below you will find a semi-recent pic of the mud hole that Danny works in. Sorry, this is the only pic that the paper ran & the only one I can post here. Apparently if you even take a picture of LANL property, you can be accused of being a traitor, but since the pic ran in a public media outlet, we'll be alright. Hope you can see the pic well enough.

pics

*April 10, 2008 - I've tried to get this post ready for about a month now, but the pictures & my computer were not cooperating with each other. Not much has changed since I took these except I've moved the living room around & it's not quite so bare anymore.

Below are some pics of our new apartment, Eric playing on the computer (his new favorite past time) & Mason in his new highchair (his new favorite past time). Enjoy!

Like the green marble?

Our very bare living room!!
Playing one of his many games.
Isn't he just too cute???

Moving Day UPDATE...

Just in case I haven't talked to you in the last couple of days or you haven't read my blog on my Myspace page, we've moved. We are still in Los Alamos, just in a bigger apartment on the other side of town. Now instead of a 400 sq. ft. studio apartment we are in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath. Luck has been on our side with this move. The boys & I went out & found it, signed the lease & got the keys on Friday. Then we moved in on Saturday (with Danny's help, he had off believe it or not). Last night was our first night in the new place & by 4 am both kids had managed to make their way to our bed (a queen, instead of a full!)!! All in all it hasn't been that bad except for the 400 trips up & down the stairs at the old apartment. Oh yeah did I mention, we are on the bottom floor at the new place, NO STAIRS!!! I've got some pics I'll have to post later, check back for more.

Snowing...

As I sit here looking out the window, watching the snow fall, I remembered some pictures I took a couple of weeks ago. When I took these I thought about how we don't get stuff like this in Texas! Enjoy!

Our neighbor's backyard. Can you see the snowflakes?
Some of them were as big as my thumb!!

Usually we can see some mountains & part of the
canyon beyond those trees.

The ski area is out there somewhere!!!

These icicles really bothered Eric. He was just
itching to break those things off!!
